Wow! What a great day we had in Year 1 for our Pirate party!
We spent the afternoon enjoying food, games, decorating Pirate hats and going on a treasure hunt!

First of all the children all decorated their own Pirate hats – which was lots of fun, and super messy! The children had some wonder ideas and all the Pirate hats looked great.
Then the children went on a treasure hunt around the playground, following the instructions and route on the map (which the children did a fantastic job at!) At the end of the treasure hunt, they found ‘X marks the spot’ and there was a treasure box with chocolate coins in. Yum yum! Which had been left by Pirate Pete, thanking us for helping him to find his treasure.
After all that hard map reading the children came back into the classroom which had been turned into a Pirate galley, ready for their party food. We had some yummy cakes, crisps and biscuits, whilst we watched a Pirate film.
Afterwards we played some games that the children all got involved in and had a lot of fun with. The children all cheered one another on and were happy for our winners.

We were all partied out and ready for home time when it came!

I do hope the Pirates come and visit us again!
